A Book by Dave Lawler

What one person with AI can build.

A memoir of building a real company with AI agents. Not theory. Not predictions. The actual experience of launching Second Ring—from first commit to first customer—written from mid-climb, not the summit.

The first turn of the handle

The first thing AI changed was not how fast I could write code. It was how small a company could be and still behave like a company.

I had spent years around systems that only existed because large organizations could afford the people to hold them together: analysts, developers, project managers, support desks, integration teams, reporting teams. Then the tools shifted. A single operator could ask, build, test, document, and deploy in the same afternoon.

Infinite Leverage starts there: not with a grand theory about the future, but with the uncomfortable moment when the old staffing math stopped being obviously true.

The Premise

The era changed. Most people haven’t noticed yet.

The jump from “AI that answers questions” to “AI that executes tasks” is roughly the distance between a calculator and an employee. They both involve numbers. The resemblance ends there.

Infinite Leverage is written from inside the experience—not the polished retrospective. Dave Lawler left a 30-year enterprise career and built a company called Second Ring using AI agents for everything: code, operations, marketing, customer service. This book tells that story as it happened, including the wrong turns.
